Had a great time sharing the studio with Sport Casual last week. As usual, he came through with records covering a broad mix of styles. Most of the first set is firmly planted in the late eighties R&B sound while the second steps back into classic dance material. I tossed a short set of records in between. Last but not least, we’d like to give a final shout out to Big City Records who closed shop in Manhattan on the 31st. The operation will keep up online and in NJ, but the NY location was most dear to our hearts. Jared a/k/a JBX’s sets continue to be favorites of our listeners and he’s been a tremendous asset to our show by hipping us to records and sending guest DJs our way. The chance to stop in, hang and have him casually suggest a record is an experience we’ll sorely miss.
