Joel Stones on A Downtown Affair

Last Friday on A Downtown Affair we invited Joel Stones to the studio for a guest set. He is the owner of Tropicalia in Furs in Manhattan, which is the only place to find a consistent stock of Brazilian LPs and 7″s. Following the success of Joel’s first compilation, Brazilian Guitar Fuzz Bananas, he is setting out to film a documentary about Brazil’s psychedelic past. In an effort to raise funds, Joel and the film’s director, Artur Ratton, have set up a Kickstarter page and are just short of reaching their goal. Check out his set below, and if you like what you hear, be sure to visit the Kickstarter project.

Great set from Joel, however the tracklist is severely incomplete… Would be great if you could fill in the blanks! Also the Bill Pinkney track is ‘I Do the Jerk’ and not ‘Don’t Call Me’ as listed.

    Thanks
